Well, as with many things in life, the answer is… sort of. It IS true that cruise lines are trying to get as many passengers as possible at the moment (butts in seats!) to recoup lost revenue from a little thing called… the Pandemic. There was an actual cruising shut-down of more than a year, and some remaining cruise…hesitancy (the words “petri dish” seem to get thrown around a lot). At the end of the day, there truly ARE some stellar deals to be had. For some. At certain times. From certain ports. On certain ships.

For those who’ve cruised before, you already know that while that $26 on a 4-day out of Miami IS truly your base fare, it is not the out-door-price. Every cruise adds on port fees and taxes, as well as additional costs if you want a cabin upgrade (that $26 is getting you an interior) Also, cruises are priced for two people. If you have two, you each get that rate, if you only have one, you’ll be paying roughly double the base fare. Drink packages and specialty dining are, of course, additional — but that’s nothing new.
So, what would you actually end up paying for that $26 cruise? Well, assuming two people are going, if you keep the basic interior cabin, you’re paying $150.86 per person. For four days. Meals and Entertainment included. Alright… that’s still freaking amazing. That’s $38 a day — I can’t stay home for that! That’s…. kinda ridiculous. Ok, so how does one get these deals? Stay tuned…
