The Hemingway Cats in Pictures

If you’ve travelled to Key West, FL, you’ve heard of the sunny yellow house, filled with the descendants of author Ernest Hemingway’s (50!) original polydactyl purrfactories. If I had a year, I couldn’t take enough photos of these babies.

It’s often said that ALL the Hemingway House cats have the distinctive extra toe, but only about half are actually polydactyl. These are believed to all be descended from one queen named Snowball. (photo: M. Gentry)
Wonderful tour guide Rusty informed us that there’s usually never NOT a cat on Ernest’s bed
The cats all receive regular vet visits, flea treatment, food and water.
